U.S., Mexico: Gateway Bridge Closed After Gunfight

The Gateway International Bridge crossing the U.S.-Mexico border was shut down for 30 minutes Feb. 19 following a brief exchange of gunfire when Mexican state and federal police raided a nearby warehouse in Matamoros, Mexico, local media reported in Brownsville, Texas. The southbound lane of the bridge crossing into Mexico was shut down around 3 p.m. local time from the U.S. side, though northbound traffic was allowed to continue, the Brownsville Herald reported.
